Recently I asked – *pressured* – my friend into letting me do his makeup. I don’t know why tbh, but I’ve never attempted makeup on a guy and wanted to see how it would turn out.
He wouldn’t let me take any photos (he should’ve cuz it mostly looked b o m b) but he did say I could write a post about the turn out and what products I used etc etc…
So here is my male makeup look, strictly summed up by words!
I started off with the Nivea Men Post Shave Balm as it’s A) for men, and B) it’s nothing expensive :’). You’ll notice I didn’t wanna use any of my more high end makeup, yanno just in case.
I used a brown eye shadow, no idea what brand it is, but I use to use it for mine and it does the job.
First I primed and set his lid with my Collection Lasting Perfection concealer in Fair and then my Makeup Revolution Contour and Highlight palette using the yellow shade. I then created a little look with Tanya Burrs Galaxy Eye palette. I used the shade Stormy Sky in the crease, the shade Starry Night on the outer V, Moonlight on the main part of the lid and Snowflake to highlight his inner corner. Over all it looked pretty decent! I later went back in with Stormy Sky on his lower lashes.
Now that the primer had yet, I went in with the Maybelline Fit Me foundation in Natural Ivory. This is a matte foundation and I find it a little hard to work with which is why I never really reach for it anymore.
I went back in with my Collection Lasting Perfection – Fair – to brighten under the eyes and let me tell you, he needed it.
I set under his eyes with the Yellow powder again and with my Collection Loose powder in Translucent. Then set his entire face with the Rimmel Stay Matte powder in Peach Glow.
I used my Hoola bronzer by Benefit to give him some depth to his face. Not forgetting to go down the neck.
He needed some definition, so I used my Contour and Highlight palette by Makeup Revolution to contour his under cheekbones, his temples and jawline.
I took my Makeup Revolution blush palette in Golden Sugar and gave him some sweet pink cheeks.
And then made him g l o w with my Becca x Jaclyn Hill highlighter in Champagne Pop. I placed it on his cheekbones, under the brows, on his nose and a little on his cupids bow.
I really can’t do eyeliner, but I attempted (and failed) to do his with my Maybelline Master Graphic liner.
I used my Soap and Glory Thick and Fast mascara on his top and bottom lashes.
And finally used my MUA red lipstick in Shade 1 (it’s a dark red) to give him full lips!
After setting with my Makeup Revolution Pro Fix setting spray, the look was complete!
Overall I found the experience of doing a guys makeup a little easier than girls, because he had no idea what I was doing and didn’t complain or judge! He had a little stubble which made things the smallest bit harder but it was worth it because as I said before, he looked b o m b!
Thankyou for reading my male makeup look! As always, like, share and comment – I love interacting with you guys!
Have you ever done a guys makeup before?
Lots of love,
